Everything’s bigger in Texas…right? I would certainly say so. Around the fire pit you can find huge cuts of meat such as pork, beef, and bison ribs, turkey, sausage, chicken, brisket, pulled pork, and everything else that makes a BBQ a damn good time. Yes, of course that includes cornbread.
The incredible flavor that these meats all have is cooked right into it from the moment it gets into the pit or grill. The Salt Lick also makes their own BBQ sauces which were perfectly flavored and not too overbearing, allowing you to taste the meat and enjoy the savory flavors from the grill. My meal consisted of the “Thurman’s Choice”, which includes hearty portions of brisket, pork ribs, and sausage along with cornbread. They proclaim, “The plate that poppa ate!” Be advised that The Salt Lick is CASH ONLY and will not accept cards of any type. There is an ATM on-site, but beware that you will be charged a fee.
